Description The White Industries CLD Rear Hub is a lightweight, precision-machined Boost Center Lock disc rear hub built for modern gravel and mountain bikes. We machine, assemble, and inspect every hub in our Petaluma, California facility. As a result, the CLD delivers smooth performance, lasting durability, and premium American craftsmanship. The CLD traces its heritage back to the original White Industries Ti Cassette Hub introduced in 1992. For more than 30 years, we’ve refined our hub designs through real-world testing and continuous innovation. Today, every CLD carries the same proven DNA: simple engineering, dependable performance, and long-lasting reliability. The CLD is designed for Boost-spaced frames and uses the Shimano Center Lock disc rotor interface. Therefore, it delivers secure rotor mounting and dependable braking performance on every ride. Its lightweight construction makes it an excellent choice for fast gravel bikes. Meanwhile, its rugged design stands up to aggressive trail riding and demanding mountain bike adventures. At the heart of the CLD is a heat-treated, black-oxide 4130 steel axle with lightweight aluminum axle ends. Four premium Enduro sealed cartridge bearings support the hub—two in the 6061-T6 aluminum hub shell and two in the 6Al-4V titanium freehub body. Together, they provide smooth rolling performance, efficient power transfer, and exceptional long-term durability.
